At the age of 15 I was exposed to steel and the process of blacksmithing. I honed my skills as a blacksmith during my undergraduate career at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where I received my Bachelors of Fine Art. In May 2002, I acquired my Masters of Fine Art from Bowling Green State University focusing on hot glass.

My work is about humankind's relationship to nature. Working from my own personal vision, I create art that mimics shapes and forms present in the natural world. Humans are unconsciously attracted by and sensitive to naturally occurring shapes, patterns and numbers. My intense study of the patterns present in nature has provided an endless wealth of ideas. I distort and combine those complex structures to form objects from an alternate reality.
